Beavers

Make friends and try new indoor and outdoor activities

Beavers is the youngest section of our Scout Group, for boys and girls between 6 and 8 years old with some flexibility to align with term times. Applications for a place in Beavers can be made from age 5 1/2.

We are an active colony so we try to do as many different things as possible.  We do activities inside our regular meeting place, go on day visits, and even have occasional sleepovers!

We play games, do crafts, make new friends, explore the outdoors and create things.

For now, our two Beaver colonies will run as one meeting at the Scout hut on Ashley Drive or as advised by Beaver Leaders.

  • Ashdown & Kingswood Colony – Friday 4:45 – 5:45 pm

When Beavers become 8yrs, they move up to Cubs.

Learn skills

The Beavers curriculum of activities teaches young recruits an array of life skills. Each young Beaver will earn badges as they are recognised for their new skills and can show off their collection sewn to their jumpers.

Try something new

The colony leaders aim to expand the young Beavers interests and introduce them to an arrange of different activities, indoors and outdoors.

Make friends

Beavers is a great way to meet and play with new friends outside the class room.
